Important Update – Revised Notice to Providers Regarding Think Cultural E-Learning Site
TO: All Providers
Dear MetroPlusHealth Provider,
As of February 15, 2026, the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services’ Think Cultural Health e-learning platform remains under review for updates. The content is still available for you to complete training requirements while they continue working to post an updated version of the course.
While fully upholding state and contractual cultural competency training requirements, including initial and annual requirements, MetroPlusHealth is temporarily exercising enforcement discretion and is not requiring provider attestation at this time. However, all providers must have proof of attestation by December 31, 2026.
Our Provider Relations department is happy to assist you with any questions or concerns regarding this notice. Please contact us at [email protected].
Behavioral Health Providers
Behavioral Health providers continue to have state-approved cultural and linguistic competency training options available, including:
- Center for Practice Innovations (CPI): Cultural Competence Curriculum and Using the Cultural Formulation Interview (CFI). Access via the CPI Learning Community.
- OASAS-Approved Cultural Competency Trainings: Available through the NYS OASAS Training Catalog (select ‘Cultural Competency’).
- Behavioral Health providers are encouraged to complete applicable training and retain documentation of completion, which may be requested at a later date
MetroPlusHealth will continue to share updated guidance and next steps once additional direction is received from NYSDOH.
