Signing up for health insurance can be daunting – but it’s easier if you know what to expect. Let us walk you through our enrollment process instead of researching “how to buy my own health insurance” or wondering, “Can I buy health insurance for my child only?” Soon, you’ll feel confident and ready to sign up.
As you may expect, you’ll need to provide contact information during enrollment. This includes your address, phone number and email address, so be sure you’re prepared with that information.
Next, you’ll want to gather the documents you need to provide proof of identity and date of birth, proof of residency, and proof of current income. Documents you may be able to use include:

Once you have your information ready, you’ll need to call MetroPlusHealth. The member services team is available weekdays 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Saturdays 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at 1.800.303.9626 (TTY:711).
While enrolling in Child Health Plus isn’t a lengthy process, you’ll still likely want to set aside some time for it so that you aren’t rushed and can ask any questions you have. Try and commit up to 30 minutes for enrollment so that you and the member services team can make sure all your information is accurate and you have all the details you need.
