REMINDER: Mobile Crisis and Crisis Residence Benefit and Billing Guidance – Language Interpreter Services

Dear MetroPlusHealth Provider,

OMH has combined the previous issued guidance into one consolidated document and released the official “Benefit and Billing guidance for the “Mobile Crisis Services and Crisis Residence Program” implementation for adults, youth and children, effective as of May 1, 2024.

Billing Codes and Criteria:

  • Applicable to coverage for Medicaid, SNP and CHP Foster Care members:
  • Effective 4/25/25 onwards, only the 29-I VFCA providers billing with specific rate codes for Other Limited Health-Related Services (OLHRS), are reimbursed for Interpreter Services without the two-unit limit per encounter, using the appropriate billing codes combination in the table:

Applicable to coverage in Medicaid, SNP, MAP and CHP, providers can bill for interpreter services using the following combination:

T1013 (in person only).

T1013 + Modifier “GQ” (provided via telephone).

Note: Providers must comply with the DOH coverage and reimbursement guidelines for sign language or oral interpreter services.
